As the first part of our Nights Out On 30A series, we’re going to focus on the perfect spot for a DATE NIGHT. If it has been a while and you have zero clue what I’m talking about, it’s a night where you can get dressed up (or not! You do you mama.), take your hair out of the 3 day old messy bun, and have some adults only fun!
The Perfect Pig in Gulf Place is the perfect spot to try out.
As moms, it can be all too easy to put ourselves on the back burner and place our kiddos front and center. We let our adult relationships suffer and while that is necessary to a degree, it’s so important that we take time for ourselves to decompress and recharge. We deserve it!
With a slogan like “Praise the Lard,” what’s not to love?!
After being open for over seven years and a total of three locations (Seagrove, Gulf Place, and WaterColor), The Perfect Pig has become one of the local’s favorite hot spots. They have created such a chic, yet warm, inviting space in their dining room and the bar couldn’t feel cozier. The bar manager, William, has created a fabulous bar menu with a cocktail for every type of customer and the wine list can’t be beat. I’ve found several new favorite wines thanks to the staff’s recommendations that I have at home and give as gifts. My personal go to cocktail is the Blushing 75. Sparkling rosé and gin??? Keep them coming! They’ve also got some classics with an updated twist like a Hickory & Lavender Smoked Old Fashioned.
The menu features some staples like BBQ Shrimp and Filet Mignon, but they’ve also got some amazing elevated dishes that will satisfy any foodie’s palate. The Margarita Flatbread is always delish, and my husband swears by the Potato Parmesan Crusted Grouper.
I’ve had plenty of great times in the dining room, but a night in the bar room can’t be beat. You can find live music several nights throughout the week from some of 30A’s favorite musicians so that always makes for a fun environment. Shameless plug alert: my husband Chris Alvarado plays every Friday from 6-9, so I highly recommend Fridays! Sometimes we have to take time for a date any time we can get, so if your Date Night happens to be a Date Day, the Perfect Pig is open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week at all three of their locations!
Gulf Place offers tons of options for pampering, shopping, and dinner, as well as a short walk across 30A for a fantastic sunset view. If you can sneak away early, check out one of their two spas for some pre-date pampering. I’ve had a massage at their day spa before, and it deserved all the praise hands emojis. There are boutiques if you need a new date night outfit, or you can check out the pet store for the furriest member of the family. Gulf Place even has options for the more active couple with a golf course nearby and a paddleboard/bike store (personally, my date nights involve champagne, but that’s just me). They also offer special events like a wine walk, special concert series, and lots of community events throughout the year!
No matter where you end up for the evening, make sure to take some time for yourself. We work so hard taking care of our families and our community, we deserve to take care of ourselves too! Happy Date Night!
Thank you so much to The Perfect Pig for sponsoring our first post in the Nights Out On 30A series.
