Am I crazy? I know it is not even Halloween yet but I am already super jazzed about Christmas, yes I said “jazzed” I say things like that sometimes, get over it. The cookies, the festivities, the lights, the hustle and bustle, I LOVE it all. For me it is truly the most wonderful […]

Cooking with children comes with a few, how do you say, challenges. My older boys are now at an age where they can pretty accurately follow a recipe. Julian did mix up the salt and sugar that one time, but other than that they’re pretty ace. The littles, however, are more at the break and […]
Who doesn’t love a good homemade cookie? Answer: no one. That is why there’s a national holiday dedicated to it! October 1 is National Homemade Cookie Day and to celebrate, I whipped up these bad boys. They are best when the dough sits in the freezer for a couple of hours so this isn’t the fastest recipe, but it’s worth it.
Pro tip: they freeze great so double the recipe and freeze whatever you don’t bake for a quick batch of cookies later.
I’ve kept this cookie dough in the freezer for up to a month and they taste just as great as the first batch. It has been a lifesaver when my sweet tooth kicks in, or if we have people over last minute. Happy Baking!!!
Seriously, these are delicious and you will love them. To me, there’s something extra special about homemade desserts. It’s a nice way to show loved ones that you are thinking about them and it isn’t done much anymore. Now don’t get me wrong, there isn’t always time to bake cookies from scratch and a store bought cookie is super tasty as well! My kiddo will devour a Publix cookie in two seconds flat. I just love to bake and try out new recipes so I take the opportunity whenever I can. Plus, can we talk about the lingering smell long after the cookies are done??? It makes me feel good to have fresh baked goods in the house (my jeans aren’t as big of a fan but…oh well). Our friends and family know that if they come over, there’s a good chance I’ve just pulled something delish out of the oven. Somebody recently came over to meet with my husband and when he walked in he said, “hey have you baked anything today?” and it totally made my day.
Spring is in the air, which around here means the event calendar is filling up quickly! There’s lots to do in our little beach towns as the season picks up, and Easter is no exception. From Egg Hunts to Beach Services, we figured the least we could do is get them all in one spot […]
This time every year, the stores are filled with the latest Valentines. About 5 years ago, I decided to start the tradition to make all of our Valentines instead of buying them. Especially having boys, this holiday is usually geared towards us girls, (hey I’m not complaining). I make these super hero lollipops for my […]
I understand why Valentine’s Day can be a nuisance. It overcrowds our favorite restaurants and leaves us with extra to-do’s on our list: make kids’ valentines. Buy card. Make reservation. Book sitter. Eat entire heart-shaped box of chocolates on way back from Publix. (Wait. Just me?) But I love it anyway. A whole day that […]
When I heard there were umbrellas in the sky in Pensacola, I was #soexcited. Kid-at-Christmas-Can’t-Wait-To-Get-Over-There EXCITED. Umbrellas in the sky?! From Portuguese artists? Oh this has my name written all over it. Be right there. Record scratch. Noooot so fast. Pensacola is far, I’ve got kids and school pick-ups and all the things. Better […]
The holidays are upon us and for most families, it’s the happiest time of the year. Kids can be cajoled into doing almost anything with just a reminder of Santa’s imminent arrival. Yes, it gets busy with lengthy gift lists and special events, but there’s an underlying level of giddiness in the air. This has […]
‘Tis the season.. of feeling super busy. From holiday shopping, to family commitments, to finishing up end-of-year work, it’s a kinda crazy time of year to be a mama! Just wanted to drop us all a little reminder to slow down and enjoy the magic. ✨ It’s easier said than done, we know, but practice […]
We love our denim. We live in our denim. So when Amy from Wardrobe Made Simple assured us that we could, in fact, wear denim to all things holiday this season as long as we followed a few basic rules we were like, “Um, yes please!”

The 4th of July holds many fond memories for me. From grilling out, to making a patriotic cake, and fireworks. The 4th was always a fun and different holiday. Despite the inevitable heat, sweat, and occasional complaining en-route to our destination, my fondest memory was our annual homemade t-shirts. My mom was brave and ALWAYS […]
