A Back to School Teacher Gift Guide

0

It’s August, and I’ve had my kid home with me for 3 months. Let me reiterate, THREE months. At home. Just me. I am SO excited for my son to go back to school that frankly, I would sleep in the car the night before, just to be the first car in car line at drop off. *Waving dramatically out the car window* “BYEEEEE Grant, have a GREAT day, won’t see ya until 3pm!!!!

Now, I love my sweet boy, but it is time to go back to school, son. With this being said, I want to make sure I leave a lasting impression with my son’s teacher on the first day of school. First and foremost, to thank her for spending 7 whole hours, five days a week with MY spitfire child. Bless it, she definitely deserves a gift card on the first day of school, and if I could afford it (haha I’m also a teacher- so no) one for every day of the school year.

I also want to present his teacher with a gift to show my unreserved gratitude and appreciation for what she does. Teaching isn’t for the faint-hearted. No matter the price or size of the gift, the gesture alone will make his teacher feel valued- in which she truly is.

There is no secret that a teachers’ first week back to school is straight chaos. There is a lot of stress and responsibility assuring that every one of your students gets home the right way! Car rider, walker door, bus- and on the right bus etc. Then there’s the after school hours they put in organizing the signed paperwork from all 20 students, alphabetizing medical release forms, moving student desks around, because let’s be real, Callie can’t sit next to Lilly one day without talking let alone an entire year.

Needless to say, the hours are long and the days are hard folks, so a little gift of gratitude to your child’s teacher will definitely go a long way during back to school – even if its just a Thank You card!

 Dinner is on Us!

One of my personal absolute favorite “first day of school gifts” from a prior student of mine, was a “First Day Dinner” gift card with an attached card that read “Dinner is on us tonight!” I personally thought this was just SO cute and very useful. A gift card to any local restaurant or quick and easy drive thru window (hint- Chick-Fil-A is always a big hit with teachers! If you want sit down try The Perfect Pig) will be sure to win your teacher’s heart!

I Love my Starbucks Tumbler!

I absolutely love my Starbucks cold tumbler and I use it every day. In fact, I keep one at the school permanently just in the rare case I were to forget it at home, my life would be over. I personally love the 20oz cold cup tumbler with the straw lid. I drink an abundance of water and iced coffee in this all day long. You could even attach a Starbucks gift card to the cup with a little card reading “coffee is on us!”

You’re the Apple of my Eye

And if you’re looking for something simple yet fun, an apple and a cute card is all you need to make your child’s teacher smile on the first day of school!
